On April 26, a 32-year-old Ukrainian man was attacked with a knife in Wrocław, Poland, while attempting to sell his car to two men. The victim survived the assault, and the attackers have been apprehended.
The victim, identified as Dmytro, had listed his vehicle for sale and met with the prospective buyers, who exhibited unusual behavior from the outset. They requested a ride to an ATM to withdraw cash, but despite visiting 15 different machines, they claimed they were unable to obtain funds. Subsequently, the men asked to stop at a Żabka convenience store, yet left empty-handed, citing long lines as the reason.
While Dmytro was in the process of completing the sale agreement, the buyers suddenly attacked him with a knife. He managed to unbuckle his seatbelt, escape from the car, and call for help. Dmytro sustained 14 stab wounds during the incident.
The assailants fled the scene, but one of them dropped a mobile phone while escaping. Dmytro retrieved the phone and contacted his girlfriend, arranging to meet at a nearby gas station where he could receive medical assistance. He made his way to the gas station, where fellow Ukrainians provided initial care before emergency services arrived. Dmytro was able to inform the police about the attack before losing consciousness.
Medical personnel treated Dmytro, applying over 50 stitches to his wounds. His condition is stable, and he is expected to recover. The attackers have since been detained by law enforcement.
