Reports indicate that Russian soldiers are being ordered to leave their injured comrades behind on the battlefield, specifically in the Pokrovsk direction of Ukraine. This directive reportedly comes from commanders within the Russian military.
Military intelligence has intercepted communications between two servicemen from the 439th Motorized Rifle Regiment, part of the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army, operating in the Pokrovsk area. The conversations reveal a troubling disregard for the welfare of wounded personnel.
Despite the dire circumstances, commanders are instructing injured soldiers to remain at their positions. This practice is raising concerns about the overall combat readiness of these units. One soldier was overheard expressing concern for a severely injured comrade, stating, “This one is also 300, barely alive, all wet and frozen; I gave him a poncho to wrap him up a bit.”
In the intercepted dialogue, the issue of evacuation is notably absent, with one commander dismissing the possibility outright, stating, “Not an option, not an option, f*** it, disconnect.” This highlights a troubling trend in the treatment of wounded soldiers within the ranks.
Ukrainian military intelligence has urged Russian soldiers to consider surrendering voluntarily through the initiative called “I Want to Live” to avoid such situations in the future.
Recent communications intercepted by military intelligence reveal that Russian commanders are instructing their troops to abandon injured soldiers on the battlefield, raising serious concerns about the treatment of personnel and combat readiness. This practice has been noted particularly in the Pokrovsk direction of Ukraine, where the welfare of wounded soldiers appears to be overlooked.
