On Sunday, April 19, Russian military forces launched attacks on residential neighborhoods in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in injuries and significant property damage. Ivan Fedorov, the head of the regional military administration, confirmed that a 52-year-old woman sustained injuries during the assault.
Fedorov reported that 21 private homes were damaged as a result of the attack. The local authorities are currently providing necessary medical assistance to the injured.
Russian forces have been consistently targeting Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various types of weaponry, including strike drones, missiles, and multiple rocket launch systems. These attacks have raised serious concerns among Ukrainian officials and international organizations, who classify them as war crimes.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the deliberate targeting of essential services and healthcare facilities is intended to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance. Such actions have been described as indicative of genocidal behavior.
In response to these allegations, Russian officials deny that their military is intentionally striking civilian infrastructure, asserting that their operations are focused on military objectives. However, the ongoing attacks have led to widespread condemnation and calls for accountability on the international stage.
Recent attacks by Russian forces in Zaporizhzhia have resulted in civilian injuries and extensive property damage. Authorities classify these actions as war crimes, highlighting the targeting of essential services as part of a broader strategy against civilians.
