On April 15, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Russian forces launched a significant assault on Ukraine, deploying 21 missiles and 361 strike drones. Ukrainian Air Force reported that their defense systems successfully intercepted a large portion of these attacks.
According to the Air Force, they managed to shoot down 20 missiles and 349 drones during the operation. The intercepted missiles included:
- 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
- 349 drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas.
Despite the extensive defense efforts, the Air Force confirmed that one missile and 12 strike drones hit six locations across the country. Additionally, debris from the intercepted missiles fell in 12 different areas.
On April 15, Ukrainian air defenses successfully thwarted a major Russian missile and drone attack, intercepting the vast majority of incoming threats. However, some strikes did manage to reach their targets, causing localized impacts.
