Ceasefire Violations Mark Easter Truce Between Ukraine and Russia

On Saturday, April 11, a temporary ceasefire was declared between Ukraine and Russia for the Easter holiday. However, reports indicate that Russian forces violated this truce nearly 500 times within the same evening.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were a total of 101 combat engagements reported since the start of the day.

As of 4 PM, 469 violations of the ceasefire were recorded, including 22 assaults, 153 shelling incidents, 19 drone strikes from kamikaze drones such as ‘Lancet’ and ‘Molniya,’ and 275 attacks from FPV drones. The statement detailed that throughout the day, Russian forces conducted 57 airstrikes, dropped 182 aerial bombs, and deployed 3,929 kamikaze drones, alongside 2,454 shelling incidents targeting both populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.

The frontline situation evolved significantly over the day. In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, four combat encounters were reported, along with 45 shelling incidents against Ukrainian positions, four of which involved the use of multiple rocket launch systems.

In the South-Slobozhansky direction, Russian forces launched five assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Starytsia, Veterinarne, Prylipka, and Vovchansky Khutory.

Meanwhile, in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled three enemy assaults aimed at the towns of Petropavlivka and Novoosynove.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops thwarted six attempts by Russian forces to advance near Zarichne and towards Shiykivka, Drobysheve, and Lyman.

In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces halted one enemy assault aimed at Rai-Oleksandrivka.

There were no offensive actions reported from Russian troops in the Kramatorsk direction.

Ukrainian forces managed to repel 19 enemy assaults in the Kostyantynivka direction, particularly near Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillya, Rusynyi Yar, Sofiyivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces conducted 18 attacks, attempting to advance in areas around Rodynske, Dorožne, Myrnohrad, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka.

Preliminary estimates indicate that 67 Russian soldiers were killed and 24 wounded in this direction; additionally, four vehicles and three units of special equipment were destroyed, one command point was hit, and three tanks, five artillery systems, four vehicles, and 54 enemy infantry shelters were damaged. A total of 272 drones of various types were either destroyed or suppressed, according to the General Staff.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces made four attempts to improve their positions, attacking areas near Novohryhorivka, Ternove, and towards Pryvillia. An airstrike targeted Pidhavrylivka.

In the Huliaipil direction, four attacks occurred in the vicinity of the settlements of Solodke, Olenokostyantynivka, and towards Charivne. Russian forces also carried out airstrikes in the regions of Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, Kopani, Charivne, and Rivne.

No offensive actions were reported in the Orikhiv direction, although airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Obshche and Omelnyk.

In the Dniprovsk direction, Russian forces attempted three unsuccessful assaults towards the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island. An airstrike targeted Kherson.

Despite a declared ceasefire for Easter, Russian forces have significantly escalated hostilities, reporting hundreds of violations and numerous attacks across various fronts. Ukrainian defenders continue to repel assaults, highlighting ongoing conflict dynamics.
