Ukraine Implements Hourly Power Outage Schedules Amid Ongoing Energy Crisis

On Thursday, April 9, hourly power outage schedules will be enforced across all regions of Ukraine, alongside restrictions on power consumption for industrial users.

Starting tomorrow, household consumers will experience power outages from 07:00 to 22:00, while industrial consumers will face power limitations from 07:00 to 23:00.

The ongoing restrictions are attributed to the aftermath of extensive combined strikes by Russian forces targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Authorities have advised citizens that “the situation in the energy system may change. Please monitor updates on the official pages of your regional energy providers,” according to a recent statement.

Earlier today, power outage schedules were introduced nationwide due to the challenging circumstances affecting the energy system caused by hostile attacks.

In particular, drone strikes and artillery fire on energy infrastructure in frontline regions have led to power outages for consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy oblasts.

Since autumn 2025, Russia has resumed regular attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector, with increased bombardments occurring during winter months marked by severe cold. During these periods, some cities have experienced prolonged outages lasting up to a day or more, affecting access to electricity, water, and heating.

Ukraine has announced the implementation of hourly power outage schedules due to ongoing attacks on its energy infrastructure. The restrictions are expected to affect both household and industrial consumers across the country as authorities respond to the crisis.
