EU-Funded ‘Seeds of Bravery’ Project Supports Ukrainian Tech Startups

The ‘Seeds of Bravery’ initiative, backed by the European Union, has concluded after more than two years of aiding Ukrainian technology companies. During its run, the project awarded non-repayable grants totaling €12 million to 318 startups.

Launched on December 20, 2020, with a budget of €20 million, ‘Seeds of Bravery’ was designed to integrate Ukrainian deep tech startups into the European innovation ecosystem and assist them in scaling their businesses in new markets.

In addition to financial support, participants attended 34 international conferences and gained access to 61 co-working spaces across Europe. The initiative facilitated over 600 meetings between startups and potential clients, engaging 2,430 European investors and corporations.

Furthermore, 236 researchers completed entrepreneurial programs, with about 20% of them launching their own technology ventures. Additionally, 100 female entrepreneurs participated in the FEL leadership development program.

The project was executed by a consortium of partners from Ukraine and the EU, including FundingBox, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, EIT Health, Plug and Play, and Aalto University, among others.

The 'Seeds of Bravery' project has successfully supported Ukrainian startups, providing significant financial grants and fostering connections within the European tech ecosystem. Its completion marks a notable achievement in enhancing the capabilities of Ukrainian technology companies.
