Ukraine Intercepts Majority of Russian Drones in Overnight Assault

In the early hours of March 30, Russia launched a significant aerial attack on Ukraine, deploying 164 strike drones, including the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models, along with a ballistic missile, the Iskander-M. Ukrainian air defense forces reported successfully intercepting 150 of these drones during the ensuing combat.

The Ukrainian Air Force detailed that various defense mechanisms were employed in response to this latest assault. These included aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine’s defense forces.

According to preliminary reports, as of 8:30 AM, the Ukrainian air defense had neutralized or suppressed 150 hostile drones. The Air Force also noted that the attack resulted in the impact of a ballistic missile and 12 strike drones across seven locations, with debris falling in two areas. Despite these interceptions, the aerial assault continued, with several drones still present in Ukrainian airspace.

A recent Russian aerial attack on Ukraine involved a large number of drones and a ballistic missile, with Ukrainian defenses intercepting a significant portion. The ongoing threat underscores the persistent nature of the conflict in the region.
