A 13-year-old girl has died in a hospital after sustaining injuries from a Russian strike in the Mykolaiv region on March 28, as confirmed by Vitaliy Kim, head of the regional military administration.
Earlier reports indicated that the attack in the Voskresenska community injured eight children and two adults, with three individuals in critical condition. According to local officials, the assault involved Shahed-type drones, which targeted a public recreation area, resulting in ten injuries. Among the victims were two women, aged 40 and 18, as well as five girls and three boys aged between 10 and 16. All injured parties were hospitalized, with the 40-year-old woman and two girls, aged 13 and 15, listed in serious condition, while the remaining six children are reported to be in moderate condition.
On the same day, air raid alerts were issued approximately seven times across the Mykolaiv region. The Office of the Prosecutor General has reported that, due to ongoing Russian aggression, 691 children have lost their lives, and 2,415 have been injured.
Russian forces have been consistently attacking Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various weapons, including drones, missiles, and artillery systems. Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their targeted nature.
Attacks on essential services and healthcare facilities aim to deprive civilians of electricity, heat, water supply, communication, medical assistance, and other vital living conditions, which are viewed as genocidal actions. The Russian leadership denies that its military deliberately targets civilian infrastructure, despite the ongoing destruction of hospitals, schools, and energy facilities.
The tragic death of a 13-year-old girl from injuries sustained in a Russian drone attack highlights the ongoing violence in Ukraine, where civilian casualties continue to rise amid targeted assaults on infrastructure.
