Drone Strikes Target Leningrad Region for Third Consecutive Night

Reports indicate that drones have attacked locations in Russia’s Leningrad region for the third night in a row, with explosions reported shortly after midnight in the Vyborg, Kirov, and Kolpino districts. Local residents have described hearing multiple blasts during these incidents.

According to the Telegram channel Shot, preliminary information suggests that approximately 20 aerial targets have been intercepted. In response to the ongoing situation, Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg has temporarily suspended all incoming and outgoing flights.

No official information regarding the consequences of these attacks has been released at this time, Shot noted.

Other Telegram channels have shared videos depicting the drone strikes in the Leningrad region, particularly highlighting explosions near the Primorsk and Ust-Luga ports. These ports are significant for Russia’s oil product exports.

Contextualizing the recent events, drone attacks on the Leningrad region have escalated in frequency. On March 26, drones targeted the region, where the Kirishinaftoorgsintez oil refinery is located. Earlier, on March 8, the KINEF refinery was also struck, resulting in damage to one of its storage tanks due to falling debris.

Additionally, on March 25, a large-scale drone attack led to a fire at the Ust-Luga port, further highlighting the vulnerability of critical infrastructure in the area.

The Leningrad region of Russia has been under drone attack for three consecutive nights, with significant explosions reported and temporary flight suspensions at Pulkovo Airport. This escalation follows previous strikes on key infrastructure, including oil refineries and ports.
