Ukrainian troops from the 28th Mechanized Brigade, alongside allied units, successfully thwarted a combined assault by Russian forces from four directions near Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.
According to reports from the brigade’s press service, Russian forces have been increasing their attempts to deploy more troops into Kostiantynivka daily. The enemy has been advancing in small infantry groups, and while previous mechanized assaults were repelled, this time the attackers employed a deceptive strategy.
In a tactical maneuver, the Russians deployed two concealed tanks from the direction of Toretsk, while three infantry groups advanced from various points. One group moved toward Ivanopillia, another traveled on motorcycles along the road to Pokrovsk, and the third, referred to as ‘spetsura in kikimoras,’ was to operate near the railway.

the brigade noted. However, Ukrainian pilots from the BBS “Spalah,” along with units from the SBU, National Guard, and ground forces, managed to destroy one of the armored decoys and effectively dismantled the first two infantry groups using FPV drones and air drops.
The ‘spetsura’ group faced the most challenges, with one member becoming disoriented and ultimately captured by Ukrainian infantry. Of all the attackers, he was the only one to survive the encounter.
