On March 25, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrived in North Korea for a two-day visit, following an invitation from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. This visit marks a significant diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
Upon his arrival at Pyongyang International Airport, Lukashenko was warmly welcomed by North Korea’s First Deputy Prime Minister Kim Tok Hun and Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, who greeted him with flowers on the red carpet.
During his visit, Lukashenko paid respects at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, honoring the legacies of North Korea’s former leaders, Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
An official meeting between Lukashenko and Kim Jong Un took place at Kim Il Sung Square, featuring the national anthems of both countries, a gun salute, and a display of cavalry and honor guards, emphasizing the ceremonial significance of the occasion.
Additionally, the Belarusian leader visited the Liberation Monument in Pyongyang, further highlighting the cultural and historical ties between Belarus and North Korea.
