Moscow Aware of US-Ukraine Peace Talks, Says Kremlin

The Kremlin has confirmed that it is monitoring ongoing discussions between the United States and Ukraine aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict. Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, stated that Russia is receiving updates on the negotiations taking place between Washington and Kyiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently expressed concerns about the lack of progress in the peace process following a visit by a Ukrainian negotiation team to the United States. He attributed this stagnation to Russia’s unwillingness to engage in a resolution.

Zelensky emphasized the crucial role of the European Union, the United States, and other international partners in revitalizing diplomatic efforts to encourage Moscow toward a peaceful settlement.

In related developments, bilateral talks between Ukrainian and American delegations were held in Miami, Florida, from March 21 to 22. Notably, these discussions occurred without Russian representatives.

The U.S. delegation was led by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, a senior advisor and son-in-law of former President Donald Trump. During the meetings, participants focused on Ukraine’s post-war recovery, state development, and enhancing security guarantees from the U.S. as part of a future peace agreement.

At the conclusion of the first day, Witkoff reported that the delegations were gradually narrowing down contentious issues and concentrating on security and stability matters.

The Kremlin has acknowledged its awareness of ongoing peace negotiations between the U.S. and Ukraine, while President Zelensky highlights a lack of progress due to Russia's reluctance. Recent talks in Miami focused on Ukraine's recovery and security guarantees.
