Recent satellite imagery has confirmed damage to Russian military radar systems located near the village of Uyutne, close to Evpatoria, Crimea. The images, captured by Planet Labs on March 11, 2026, show the aftermath of an attack that reportedly occurred on the night of March 9.
According to the Telegram channel “Krymsky Viter,” Ukrainian forces specifically targeted the radar systems known as “Nebo-U” and “Oborona-14.” The report indicated that the antenna of the “Nebo-U” radar had been knocked to the ground, rendering it inoperable, while the “Oborona-14” radar was not operational at the time of the satellite observation.
The “Oborona-14” is a modified Soviet radar system, whereas the “Nebo-U” is among the most advanced and expensive radar systems in the Russian military, with a reported cost of approximately $100 million. A military expert from Crimea, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, noted that the specific radar systems concealed under the transparent domes would be known to Ukrainian intelligence.
Despite the significant implications of these attacks, Russian military officials have not publicly commented on the incidents. Since 2022, the Crimean Peninsula has been subjected to near-daily drone and missile strikes, with the Russian Ministry of Defense and government frequently refraining from confirming hits on military targets, even when such information is verifiable.
Ukrainian forces have targeted Russian radar systems in Crimea, as evidenced by satellite images showing significant damage. The attacks highlight ongoing military tensions in the region, with Russian officials remaining silent on the incidents.
