Emergency Power Outages Implemented in Parts of Ukraine Amid Ongoing Energy Crisis

On the evening of March 23, emergency power outages were initiated in various regions of Ukraine, as reported by the national energy company, Ukrenergo.

The outages are attributed to the repercussions of Russian shelling and the ongoing challenges faced by the Ukrainian energy system. Ukrenergo clarified that previously announced schedules for power disconnections are currently suspended in the affected areas.

“Energy workers are striving to restore stable electricity supply as quickly as possible. Emergency outages will be lifted once the situation in the energy system stabilizes,” the company stated.

Ukrenergo further noted that the energy situation remains fluid, advising citizens to monitor updates on the official pages of the distribution system operator in their respective regions.

Since January 14, a state of emergency has been in effect in Ukraine’s energy sector, following directives from President Volodymyr Zelensky in response to the ongoing Russian attacks on the country’s infrastructure.

Emergency power outages have been enacted in parts of Ukraine due to Russian attacks and ongoing energy system challenges. Ukrenergo is working to restore stability while advising citizens to stay informed through official channels.
