Russia Mobilizes Troops in Crimea for Combat Operations

Russian military officials have announced plans to mobilize all conscripts in Crimea for combat duties starting in April. This move comes amid ongoing efforts to fully replace personnel in the 810th Separate Marine Brigade based in Sevastopol.

According to military analyst Voloshin, the initial assurances that Crimeans would not be required to fight are no longer valid. He stated, “Russians promised that Crimeans would not fight, but now they must participate in combat operations.” This shift indicates a significant change in the deployment strategy for troops in the region.

Currently, part of the 810th Brigade is engaged in operations near Kursk, while another segment remains stationed in Crimea. Russian command is reportedly planning to establish a new marine division based on the 810th Brigade.

In addition to these developments, Russia is forming new military units and reallocating reserves to the southern front. Specifically, the 55th and 120th Marine Divisions are being transferred to Donetsk Oblast to bolster their forces.

These reinforcements are expected to be involved in assaults along the Alexandrovsky and Gulyaipole directions, with preparations anticipated to conclude around April.

Furthermore, the 29th Army and the 68th Army Corps are set to receive 265 armored vehicles to offset losses in occupied Donetsk. The 58th Army is also planning to reinforce the 19th and 42nd Motorized Rifle Divisions using reserve regiments from the Moscow Military District.

Russia is intensifying its military presence in Crimea by mobilizing conscripts for combat, reversing previous commitments. This strategic shift includes the formation of new units and the transfer of existing forces to the southern front, indicating an escalation in military operations.
