Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on the evening of March 21 that a Ukrainian delegation has engaged in talks with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump, specifically Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Zelensky indicated that these discussions are set to continue the following day.
During his address, Zelensky emphasized the importance of ongoing diplomacy in light of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He stated,
“Our team is currently in America, and we had a meeting today. From the American side, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were present. It is crucial for all of us in the world that diplomacy continues as we strive to end this war—Russia’s war against Ukraine. War is not needed by anyone.”
He further elaborated that both Ukrainian and American representatives would maintain their dialogue into the next day. Zelensky remarked,
“The most important thing is to understand how prepared the Russian side is to move towards a real conclusion of the war and how willing they are to do this honestly and with dignity. This is especially pressing now, as geopolitical issues have only intensified due to the situation in Iran. A detailed report from our team will follow.”
The situation remains fluid, and further updates are anticipated.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed ongoing diplomatic discussions with U.S. officials aimed at resolving the conflict with Russia.
