The Ukrainian military reported significant damage to a Russian aircraft repair facility in the Novgorod region following an airstrike on March 17. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strike impacted an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft that was undergoing maintenance at the site.
Satellite imagery released by Radio Free Europe corroborated the claims, showing three holes in the roof of one of the hangars at the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant. This facility is known for servicing both military and civilian transport aircraft and is considered the largest enterprise in the Staraya Russa district.
On March 20, Ukrainian Defense Ministry advisor Serhiy Sternenko announced that Ukrainian forces successfully shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter using an FPV drone. The incident occurred in the Donetsk region, specifically near the village of Nadiivka, as reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drone units. The operators from the 59th Separate Assault Brigade engaged the helicopter, which attempted an emergency landing. However, the crew was subsequently located and neutralized.
