Ukrainian Defense Forces Strike Russian A-50 Aircraft and Military Facilities

The Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully targeted a Russian A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft at an aircraft repair facility in the Novgorod region of Russia. This information was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On March 17, 2026, the strike on the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in the city of Staraya Russa resulted in damage to the A-50, which was reportedly undergoing maintenance and possibly awaiting upgrades.

Additionally, on the night of March 20, Ukrainian forces launched attacks on significant military sites in the temporarily occupied territories. Among the targets was the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the Luhansk region, known for producing artillery shell casings and armored steel for the occupying army’s military equipment. The infrastructure of the ‘Vostochny’ training ground in Novopetrivka, located in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, was also affected.

Ukrainian forces have targeted a Russian A-50 aircraft and military facilities, confirming significant damage to key military assets. These strikes highlight ongoing military operations in the region.
