Ukrainian Security Service Uncovers Double Agent Working for Russia and Belarus

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has apprehended an individual suspected of acting as a double agent for both Russian and Belarusian intelligence. This agent was reportedly embedded within the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drone units.

Military counterintelligence, in collaboration with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the drone operations, detained the agent, who was identified as a serviceman in the drone systems division.

While serving as a drone operator, the suspect allegedly transmitted sensitive information regarding the movements, types, and quantities of drones deployed by Ukrainian defense forces in the northeastern border area.

Following directives from foreign intelligence operatives, the agent transitioned to a position managing ground robotic complexes used for evacuating injured personnel and delivering ammunition in the Izyum region.

Instead of fulfilling his military duties, the individual began gathering intelligence on the locations and operational plans of adjacent Ukrainian military units.

Simultaneously, he collected data on the technical specifications and operational characteristics of advanced robotic systems utilized by Ukrainian defense forces.

After completing his espionage tasks, the agent intended to escape to Russia via the front line, where he was expected to be met by Russian intelligence operatives.

The SBU acted preemptively, documenting the agent’s subversive activities. Following measures to secure the locations of Ukrainian troops, the agent was arrested at his residence in the Kharkiv region.

During the search of his premises, investigators seized two smartphones containing evidence of his collaboration with Russian and Belarusian intelligence services.

The SBU has formally charged him under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to treason committed under martial law. He is currently in custody without the option of bail, facing a potential life sentence with asset confiscation.

The SBU has detained a soldier accused of espionage for Russia and Belarus, who was providing sensitive military information while embedded in Ukrainian drone units. He faces serious charges under Ukrainian law amid ongoing military tensions.
