On the evening of March 18, Russian forces launched a drone towards Kyiv, resulting in debris landing in the Holosiivskyi district. The incident occurred during an air raid alert, with the remnants of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) impacting the roof of a non-residential building.
According to local authorities, there were no reports of fire or injuries resulting from the drone debris. The Ukrainian Air Force had previously indicated that the drone was approaching Kyiv from the direction of Boryspil/Brovariv around 6:25 PM.
This incident follows a significant aerial assault by Russian forces earlier that night, during which 147 drones were launched at various targets across Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense managed to intercept or neutralize 128 of these UAVs, including over 70 of the Shahed-type attack drones.
Despite the effectiveness of the air defense systems, reports confirmed that 15 of the attacking drones successfully struck 12 locations, underscoring the ongoing threat posed by aerial assaults in the region.
A drone launched by Russian forces fell in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district on March 18, with no casualties reported. This incident occurred amid a larger aerial assault where Ukrainian defenses intercepted a majority of the attacking drones.
