Russian Strikes in Dnipropetrovsk Region Result in Casualties and Damage

On March 11, a Russian attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region led to the death of one individual, with another person sustaining injuries, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Throughout the day, Russian forces launched over 50 assaults across three districts in the area. The Nikopol district was particularly hard hit, with damage reported to residential buildings, a private home, a hospital, administrative structures, and vehicles. An 81-year-old woman lost her life, while a 43-year-old man was injured.

In the Synelnykove district, a private house caught fire due to the attacks, but firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. Meanwhile, infrastructure and a passenger vehicle were damaged in the Kryvyi Rih district.

Russian military forces have been consistently targeting Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various weaponry, including drones and missiles. Ukrainian authorities and international organizations have classified these strikes as war crimes, emphasizing their deliberate nature.

The systematic targeting of essential services and healthcare facilities aims to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance, which some legal experts and human rights advocates interpret as genocidal actions.

During the ongoing large-scale conflict, Russia is accused of committing various crimes against Ukrainian citizens that could be classified as genocide. This includes public declarations of intent to eliminate Ukrainians, targeted attacks on vital infrastructure, and the persecution of pro-Ukrainian individuals in occupied territories.

The Genocide Convention, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948, obligates its 149 member states to prevent and punish acts of genocide during both wartime and peacetime. The convention defines genocide as actions aimed at the complete or partial destruction of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.

Despite the evidence, Russian leadership denies that its military conducts targeted strikes against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties and the destruction of hospitals, schools, and vital utilities.

Recent Russian strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region have resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, with significant damage to infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities classify these attacks as war crimes, highlighting their impact on civilian life and essential services.
