On March 10, Ukrainian defense forces successfully launched Storm Shadow missiles at the “Kremniy El” microelectronics plant located in Bryansk, Russia. This facility plays a crucial role in the production of Russia’s advanced weaponry.
The plant specializes in discrete semiconductor technology and integrated circuits, which serve as the “brains” and “nervous system” of modern weapon systems, including the Iskander missile. The General Staff of Ukraine reported significant damage to the plant’s production capabilities, although the full extent of the destruction is still being assessed.
According to military analyst Kirichevsky, both Ukraine and Russia are gearing up for a new winter campaign, with Russia testing a dangerous new missile, the “Izdelie 30,” whose electronics are produced at this facility. He emphasized that Ukraine’s strike on this vital component of the Russian military-industrial complex was a strategic move.
Kirichevsky noted that the Ukrainian armed forces have made strides in achieving parity in long-range drone capabilities compared to Russian forces. He stated that it is now essential for Ukraine to reach a similar level of capability regarding long-range missiles, a task he described as even more challenging. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, Russia has launched approximately 13,000 different long-range missiles at Ukraine, leaving the country with no choice but to address these ongoing threats.
Ukrainian forces have targeted a key electronics plant in Russia, crucial for the production of advanced weaponry. This strike is part of a broader strategy to enhance Ukraine's military capabilities in response to ongoing threats from Russian missile systems.
