President Donald Trump announced that his administration has engaged in discussions with major American defense manufacturers to significantly boost weapon production. The plan involves increasing the output of certain types of weaponry by four times.
This information was shared by Trump on Truth Social, with further details released by the White House. Key defense companies involved in these negotiations include BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
“They have agreed to quadruple the production of ‘high-grade’ weapons, as we aim to achieve the highest production levels as quickly as possible. The expansion began three months prior to the meeting, and many of these weapons are already in production at their facilities,” the President stated.
Trump emphasized that the United States currently possesses a “virtually unlimited” stockpile of medium and high-grade munitions, which the U.S. military has utilized in various operations, including in Iran and more recently in Venezuela.
He also noted that orders for these munitions have increased, and states across the country are competing for contracts to build new manufacturing plants.
