Ukraine Offers Support to U.S. Against Iranian Drone Threats Amid Escalating Conflict

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine has received a request from the United States for assistance in defending against Iranian Shahed drones in the Middle East. This development follows a series of Iranian drone attacks targeting Gulf countries, coinciding with U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran that began on February 28.

In a statement on social media platform X, Zelensky confirmed Ukraine’s willingness to aid the U.S. in countering these drone threats. He emphasized the need for necessary resources and the deployment of Ukrainian specialists to ensure adequate security. “Ukraine helps partners who assist our security and protect the lives of our people,” he wrote.

“I have instructed to provide the necessary means and ensure the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can guarantee the required security. Ukraine helps partners who help our security, protecting the lives of our people,” said President Zelensky.

Previously, Zelensky indicated that Ukraine is considering offering expertise on intercepting Shahed drones to countries in the Middle East. He noted that discussions with partners regarding this matter are already underway.

“We want to obtain scarce missiles for Patriot systems and transfer the appropriate number of interceptors. We clearly understand how many we need and what we can quickly produce, provided we have a dialogue with our partners,” Zelensky stated.

Ukraine, in collaboration with teams from the UAE, Qatar, and other nations, will determine how to enhance the protection of lives in the Middle East.

Military Operations Against Iran

On February 28, Israel launched attacks on the Iranian capital, Tehran. Following these actions, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the initiation of a “major military operation” against Iran, aimed at eliminating perceived threats from the Iranian regime. He accused the Iranian government of funding and training militants in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine. The operation’s objectives include destroying Iran’s missile industry and naval capabilities, as well as preventing global destabilization.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that it had launched missiles and drones toward Israel and attacked U.S. military bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

In response to the U.S. military operation against Iran, French President Emmanuel Macron called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

The European Union reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring regional security and stability in the Middle East.

President Zelensky remarked on the importance of providing Iranians with a chance to rid themselves of the “terrorist regime” and secure safety for all nations affected by attacks from Iran.

On February 28, Trump announced the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, a claim later confirmed by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

On March 1, the IRGC declared the commencement of “the most destructive offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic” against Israel and U.S. military bases. Trump warned the Iranian regime to abandon these plans, threatening a “very strong strike” in response.

On March 2, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the next phase of the military operation against Iran would be even more devastating.

Ukraine has pledged to assist the U.S. in countering Iranian drone threats amid escalating military operations against Iran by the U.S. and Israel. This collaboration aims to enhance security in the Middle East as tensions rise following significant military actions.
