Ukraine, U.S., and Russia Set for Tripartite Talks Amid Ongoing Conflict

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that the next round of tripartite negotiations involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will proceed as planned, despite recent developments in the Middle East. He indicated that the discussions could take place on March 5 or 6, with various countries being considered as potential venues.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Zelensky stated,

“No one has postponed the next tripartite meeting, even after the attack on Iran, so I believe it can happen on March 5 or 6, as planned. It may not be in Abu Dhabi. I would prefer Geneva, or at least somewhere in Europe, because the war is occurring on our continent.”

Zelensky also mentioned that if the Russian delegation seeks a neutral location, Austria, the Vatican, or Turkey could serve as suitable alternatives.

The last round of talks between Kyiv, Washington, and Moscow occurred in Geneva on February 26, focusing on economic support and long-term mechanisms for Ukraine’s assistance.

On February 28, Zelensky announced that he had updated the directives for the Ukrainian delegation concerning the upcoming negotiations with the U.S. and Russia regarding potential terms for ending the conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that negotiations with the U.S. and Russia will proceed as scheduled, with potential meeting dates set for early March. Locations under consideration include Geneva and other neutral sites, reflecting ongoing diplomatic efforts amid the conflict.
