In the early hours of March 2, Ukrainian defense units struck the Sheshkharis oil terminal and the Novorossiysk naval base in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Reports indicate a significant fire at the site following the attacks.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that oil loading stands at the terminal and a radar station from the S-400 missile system were hit. The extent of the damage and further details are currently being assessed.
Additionally, the destruction of four RVS-5000 tanks and damage to three RVS-2000 tanks, pipelines, and an underground reservoir were confirmed as a result of an attack on the Albashneft oil refinery on February 28, 2026.
On February 24, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Olha Stefanishyna reported receiving a call from a senior U.S. State Department official following a drone attack on the Novorossiysk port in November 2025, which had damaged the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline.
On November 14, the Security Service of Ukraine, in collaboration with defense forces, targeted the Novorossiysk port. Sources indicated that the attack caused damage to oil loading stands at the docks, pipeline infrastructure, and pumping installations, resulting in a large fire at the terminal.
This port is the second-largest oil export center in Russia and serves as a critical logistical hub for the export of petroleum products through the Black Sea.
On November 29, there was also an attack on the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which transports oil from Kazakhstan and Russia to global markets. Ukrainian defense forces have not officially confirmed this attack.
Ukrainian forces have targeted key infrastructure in the Krasnodar region, including an oil terminal and a naval base, resulting in significant damage and fires. The ongoing conflict has seen multiple strikes on critical oil export facilities, impacting logistics in the region.
