Ukrainian Experts Not Requested by UK for Drone Operations in Persian Gulf, Says Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the United Kingdom has not made any direct requests for Ukrainian experts to assist in countering Iranian drones in the Persian Gulf. During an online press briefing, Zelensky emphasized that he has not received any inquiries from the UK or other partners regarding this matter.

He remarked, “I have not received any direct requests from Britain, nor from any partners or representatives from the Middle East. I have not discussed this with anyone, so there is nothing further to talk about.” Zelensky also highlighted the capabilities of Ukrainian military personnel, expressing a willingness to share expertise with allies.

“Our partners are welcome to come to us,” he stated, underscoring Ukraine’s readiness to collaborate. He noted that at the onset of the conflict, Ukrainian soldiers were sent to neighboring countries, including Germany, Britain, and the United States, for training. Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s openness to sharing its experiences and technologies with nations that have supported it.

This statement follows British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s announcement that the UK would involve Ukrainian experts in efforts to counter Iranian drones in the region. The context of this discussion is further complicated by recent developments, including a large-scale operation initiated by the United States against Iran, which was also supported by Israel. In retaliation, Iran has conducted strikes on territories in the Persian Gulf where American installations are located.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky clarified that the UK has not requested Ukrainian experts for operations against Iranian drones in the Persian Gulf. He expressed Ukraine's willingness to share military expertise with partner nations amidst escalating tensions in the region.
