In a recent phone interview with the Daily Mail, U.S. President Donald Trump provided insights into the ongoing military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against the Iranian regime. Trump estimated that the operation could last approximately four weeks, emphasizing the challenges posed by Iran’s size and military strength.
Trump stated, “We anticipated this would take about four weeks. It’s a four-week process because, despite its strength, it’s a large country, so it will take four weeks or less.” He reiterated that the military campaign is progressing according to plan, noting significant successes in targeting Iranian leadership.
During the interview, Trump claimed that U.S. forces had eliminated a substantial number of Iranian officials, stating, “We have taken out all their leadership—much more than we thought. It seems like 48 individuals.” This assertion reflects the administration’s confidence in the operation’s effectiveness.
On March 1, Trump revealed that he had communicated with leaders from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, and several other nations regarding the situation. This collaboration underscores the strategic alliances in the region amid the military actions.
The joint operation, which commenced with airstrikes on February 28, reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with numerous other high-ranking officials. This development marks a significant escalation in U.S.-Iran tensions.
In retaliation, Iranian military forces launched missile and drone attacks not only against Israel and U.S. military installations in the region but also targeted several neighboring countries perceived as U.S. allies. The strikes have affected both military and civilian infrastructures, including residential buildings, hotels, and airports. Additionally, European military forces stationed in the Middle East have also come under fire.
President Trump outlined the expected duration and progress of U.S.-Israel military operations against Iran, claiming significant achievements in leadership eliminations. In response, Iran has escalated its attacks on regional targets, impacting both military and civilian areas.
