Hillary Clinton Testifies on Epstein Ties Before Congress

On January 26, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton provided testimony to the U.S. Congress regarding her and her husband, former President Bill Clinton’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes and human trafficking.

The closed-door session lasted six and a half hours, with no media present. Following her testimony, Clinton stated to reporters that she answered all questions to the best of her knowledge, emphasizing that she had never met or communicated with Epstein.

Clinton did mention her acquaintance with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate, describing her as a “casual acquaintance” who attended her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010 as a guest.

In comments to CNN, Clinton asserted that her husband was unaware of Epstein’s criminal activities during their interactions, claiming their friendship ended years before Epstein’s crimes came to light.

James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee, expressed skepticism about Clinton’s testimony, stating that many questions remain unanswered. He noted that the American public has a right to more information regarding the Clintons’ knowledge of Epstein and Maxwell.

Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify before Congress on February 27.

Previously, the couple had resisted testifying, facing potential legal consequences for non-compliance. They changed their stance shortly before a vote on possible contempt charges for failing to appear before the committee.

Bill Clinton served as President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 and Hillary Clinton was the Democratic presidential candidate in 2016. While Bill Clinton had known Epstein, who died in prison in 2019, he denies any knowledge of Epstein’s sexual crimes and claims to have cut ties with him two decades ago.

Media reports indicate that flight logs from Epstein’s private jet show Clinton took four international flights with Epstein in 2002 and 2003. Additionally, photographs released by the Justice Department show Clinton at Epstein’s estate, including images of him swimming in a pool and lounging in what appears to be a hot tub.

Epstein maintained connections with influential figures in American politics and entertainment. He faced allegations of sex trafficking minors for years but managed to evade serious charges until a 2005 incident led to his arrest for hiring underage girls for sexual acts. Despite multiple accusations, he accepted a plea deal in 2008, pleading guilty to lesser charges and serving only 13 months of an 18-month sentence.

After his release, Epstein attempted to reestablish connections with his influential contacts, aided by Maxwell. He remained on New York’s sex offender registry as a Level 3 offender, indicating a high risk of reoffending.

In July 2019, Epstein was arrested again in New York, leading to the discovery of numerous explicit photographs during searches of his properties. He was charged with sex trafficking and remained in custody until his death on August 10, 2019, ruled a suicide.

Maxwell was arrested in 2020 and later found guilty of aiding Epstein in his crimes against minors. On December 29, 2021, a New York court convicted her for her role in facilitating Epstein’s sexual abuse.

On November 12, 2025, the House Oversight Committee released 20,000 pages of Epstein’s private correspondence, which included mentions of former President Donald Trump. The White House dismissed the released documents as fabrications aimed at discrediting Trump.

Trump called for the release of Epstein’s files to counter perceived Democratic deception, and the House supported this initiative, leading to a bill requiring the Justice Department to disclose all non-secret documents related to Epstein.

On January 30, 2026, the Justice Department published over three million additional pages of documents in the Epstein case, including thousands of videos and images.

Hillary Clinton testified before Congress about her past connections to Jeffrey Epstein, denying any personal interaction with him. Bill Clinton is set to testify next, as scrutiny continues over their ties to Epstein and the ongoing investigation into his criminal activities.
