Ukrainian military units have successfully regained control of over 300 square kilometers in the Zaporizhia region, particularly around the Huliaipole area, following a series of counteroffensive and assault operations.
According to military spokesperson Voloshin, these operations, which began in late January 2026, have also led to the recovery of several settlements along the administrative border between the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. He emphasized that the efforts are aimed at reducing the so-called ‘gray zone’ and countering enemy attacks on their positions.
Voloshin noted that the active phase of the operation is still ongoing, making it premature to discuss final outcomes. He reported that there are approximately 50 combat engagements occurring daily in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka directions.
Ukrainian forces have regained significant territory in the Zaporizhia region amid ongoing military operations. The situation remains fluid, with daily combat engagements reported as the operation continues.
