Ukraine Implements Scheduled Power Outages Amid Ongoing Energy Crisis

On February 21, Ukraine will experience scheduled power outages across most regions due to the ongoing impact of recent Russian missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure, according to Ukrenergo.

Energy dispatchers have indicated that these measures are necessary to manage electricity consumption, particularly for industrial users. The situation remains fluid, and the duration of outages may vary, necessitating residents to check official sources for updates.

Power Outage Schedules by Region

In the Sumy region, Sumioblenergo has announced that consumers will face strict schedules, with power outages lasting between 12 to 16 hours throughout the day.

Zaporizhzhya residents will also be affected, with power being cut three times during the day, totaling slightly more than 12 hours of darkness.

In Poltava, Poltavaoblenergo reports that most consumers will experience outages four times, with the longest periods of electricity available from midnight to 6 AM, and the least from 7 AM to 10 PM.

For the Kharkiv region, Kharkivoblenergo has outlined that power will be cut three times on February 21, resulting in outages lasting between 10.5 to 17 hours.

Residents of Chernihiv will face similar restrictions, with outages occurring 3 to 4 times, leading to 9 to 14 hours without power.

In contrast, Чернівціобленерго has indicated that the schedules for Chernivtsi will be less severe, with outages lasting between 4 to 7.5 hours.

Future Outlook

Ukrainian MP Serhiy Nahornyak has expressed optimism that the situation regarding power supply may improve by spring, particularly in Kyiv. However, residents may still receive higher electricity bills despite ongoing outages due to potential meter malfunctions and individual consumption patterns.

Scheduled power outages will affect various regions in Ukraine on February 21 due to the aftermath of Russian attacks on energy facilities. Residents are advised to check local sources for updates on outage durations and schedules.
