Recent satellite imagery has highlighted significant damage to a railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal, following strikes on June 22 and 23. The images, released by the investigative project “Schemes” from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, provide a visual account of the bridge’s condition post-attack.
Before the strikes, the bridge appeared structurally sound, as seen in a satellite image taken on June 20, 2026. However, the latest images show noticeable alterations in the area surrounding the bridge, indicating damage to its structures and the nearby terrain.
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) confirmed that the bridge, located near the village of Rozdolne in the temporarily occupied Crimea, was targeted due to its strategic importance. They referred to it as a “military-logistical artery for the occupiers,” essential for the movement of resources and military equipment.
This bridge facilitated the transportation of supplies for Russian troops operating in southern Ukraine, linking them to resources from Russia through Crimea. Its destruction represents a significant disruption to the logistical framework supporting Russian military operations in the region.
The released satellite images serve as a crucial tool for assessing the impact of the strikes on this vital logistical asset, which had been integral to the Russian military’s infrastructure in occupied Crimea.
