Ukrainian military forces have successfully eliminated a Russian officer, Naran Ochir-Goryaev, along with his battalion commander. This operation took place after Ukrainian intelligence tracked the officer’s movements, revealing a planned route for his travel.
According to a commander from the 20th Brigade of Unmanned Aerial Systems, known by the call sign “Ram,” Ochir-Goryaev had been under surveillance since 2025, when he reported directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the capture of the city of Siversk.
Ram stated, “Our intelligence monitored all his comings and goings. We devised a special operation to eliminate this enemy figure. I can reveal that his battalion commander and the chief of staff were also in the vehicle. The chief of staff is currently in serious condition, while the battalion commander was killed alongside him.”
The reconnaissance unit provided information regarding the officer’s route, while other assets indicated the timing of the operation. The strike was executed during a patrol of the road by a military drone unit.
Details of Ochir-Goryaev’s Death
Ochir-Goryaev’s death was first reported on June 5 by Batu Khasikov, the head of Kalmykia, though no specific details were provided at that time. Subsequent reports clarified that the operation was carried out by operators from the 20th Brigade of Unmanned Aerial Systems.
“This operation was conducted by a small experimental unit based within one of our battalions that I currently oversee, focusing on their combat operations and planning. The main objective is to prevent any shifts in the front line and further advances by enemy forces,” explained the unit commander, known as “Saracen.”
