Drone Strike Targets Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Region, Russia

In the early hours of June 11, a drone attack struck the Afipsky oil refinery located in the Krasnodar region of Russia, igniting a significant fire on-site.

Local sources reported that the assault began shortly after midnight, with residents hearing the sound of drones flying overhead at intervals. Videos shared online captured the response of air defense systems and the extensive blaze at the facility.

“Debris from the drones fell in the village of Afipsky, resulting in a fire at the refinery,” stated the Krasnodar operational headquarters.

The Afipsky refinery is one of the largest oil processing plants in southern Russia, boasting a designed capacity of over 6 million tons of oil annually. It produces fuel that is reportedly supplied to the Russian military.

This facility has previously been a target of aerial attacks, with incidents recorded in August, September, November, and December of 2025. The last attack occurred on March 14, 2026, when drones damaged a key oil processing unit at the refinery.

A drone strike on the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar resulted in a major fire, marking another incident in a series of attacks on the facility. The refinery is significant for its production of fuel used by the Russian military.
