Drone Strikes Hit Occupied Donetsk Region, Causing Power Outages

In the early hours of June 8, drone strikes targeted the occupied Donetsk region, specifically hitting the Zuivska Thermal Power Plant located in Zughres.

Following the attack, a fire broke out near Chystiakove, and reports indicate that railway infrastructure was also damaged.

There are claims circulating online that several towns in the occupied areas of Donetsk, including Makiivka, Khartsyzk, Yenakiieve, Debaltseve, and Kirovske, experienced power outages as a result of the drone strikes.

The Zuivska TPP is situated approximately 40 kilometers east of Donetsk and has been under the control of occupying forces since the onset of Russian aggression in 2014.

Earlier that night, monitoring resources reported another drone attack on railway infrastructure near the village of Rodakove in the Luhansk region, which also resulted in a fire at a substation.

Drone strikes on the Zuivska Thermal Power Plant in the occupied Donetsk region resulted in significant damage and power outages across several towns. The ongoing conflict continues to impact critical infrastructure in the area.
