In a heartfelt announcement, his daughters, Emily and Daisy, shared, “With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our extraordinary father… He peacefully died from complications related to pneumonia, surrounded by his family.” They expressed their awareness of how much he would be missed by friends, colleagues, and fans, noting that he “loved his work immensely” and always considered himself “incredibly lucky” to be in the profession.
“It has been and always will be an honor and privilege to be his daughters and to witness the impact he and his work had on so many people,” they added.
Head gained international fame for his portrayal of Rupert Giles in the cult classic series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” which debuted in the late 1990s. His career also included notable performances in the Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso,” the fantasy drama “Merlin,” and the sketch comedy show “Little Britain,” where he played the role of the Prime Minister.
