Ukrainian military officials have reported a successful strike on a Russian patrol vessel of the “Svitlyak” class in occupied Crimea. The announcement was made by Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s unmanned systems, via social media.
The “Svitlyak” vessel, measuring 49.5 meters in length, is designed for the control and protection of ports and vessels, as well as for establishing tactical air defense and anti-submarine operations. It is equipped with 16 Igla portable air defense systems, an AK-176 artillery mount, and various machine guns, with a crew of 28 personnel and an operational range of 2,200 miles for up to ten days.
In addition to the strike on the patrol vessel, Brovdi reported that Ukrainian forces also targeted a Pantsir-S1 air defense system in the Kherson region, a RSBN-4N radar navigation system in the Crimean town of Saky, and locomotives in Vladyslavivka and Rozdolne, both in Crimea. Furthermore, strikes were conducted on transformers in Bulavynske and Vuhlehirske in Donetsk Oblast, as well as on fuel tanks in Makiivka, also in Donetsk.
As of now, Russian authorities have not confirmed these reported strikes. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia, various sites across Russia and occupied territories in Ukraine have been subjected to aerial attacks. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has acknowledged many of these operations, stating that Ukrainian defense forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the combat capabilities of Russian occupation forces and compelling Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces have reportedly struck a Russian patrol vessel in Crimea, along with several other military targets. The ongoing conflict has seen numerous aerial attacks on Russian and occupied Ukrainian sites as Ukraine seeks to diminish the capabilities of Russian forces.
