Ukrainian Government Eases Rental Regulations for Defense Industry Amid Ongoing Conflict

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has streamlined the process for leasing state property without an auction for defense industry enterprises during the ongoing martial law. This measure targets manufacturers of missile weapons, explosives, and new weaponry.

On May 30, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced via Telegram that this mechanism would be available to companies classified as critically important and included in the Ministry of Defense’s registry of state contract executors.

According to Svyrydenko, this initiative aims to expedite the establishment of new production facilities and enhance output to meet the needs of the Defense Forces.

Additionally, on May 21, the Cabinet simplified the process for confirming customs benefits for Ukrainian defense firms importing components for weapon production. This includes materials, parts, equipment, and accessories.

During the same announcement, Svyrydenko noted that over 900 state and private companies are engaged in supplying the Defense Forces with necessary weapons, technology, and equipment, employing more than 300,000 individuals.

The Ukrainian government has introduced measures to facilitate the leasing of state property for defense manufacturers, aiming to boost production capabilities during martial law. This initiative supports the ongoing efforts to supply the Defense Forces with essential resources.
