The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced that academic staff from higher education institutions and research organizations can now apply for a military exemption fully online through the Rезерв+ application.
To qualify for the exemption, applicants must ensure that their information is current in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (ЄДЕБО). The criteria include:
- Employment at a primary workplace;
- Engagement of at least 0.75 of a full-time position;
- Eligibility for exemption based on their role within higher education;
- Employment in a position listed as scientific.
It is essential that the institution where the applicant is employed is recognized in ЄДЕБО as engaged in scientific activities and has undergone state accreditation. Additionally, the exemption is available to employees of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, national sectoral academies of sciences, and their administrative staff.
The Rезерв+ application continues to offer exemptions for scientific and pedagogical staff from higher education, vocational pre-higher education, and professional education institutions, as well as researchers involved in the educational process.
To initiate the online exemption process in Rезерв+, users must select the category “Higher Education and Vocational Education Workers, Researchers” and submit their request. The system will automatically verify the data against state registries and provide a notification with the results.
If any discrepancies arise or if the online application cannot be completed, applicants are advised to contact their employer to update their information.
