The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) successfully struck a significant oil pumping station in Russia’s Vladimir region, which plays a crucial role in supplying fuel to the Moscow area.
According to an announcement, the operation was carried out by the SBU’s Alpha special operations unit, following directives from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The targeted facility, known as the ‘Vtorovo’ linear production dispatch station, is a vital hub in the network of oil product pipelines.
This station primarily transports diesel fuel from refineries in central Russia to both export ports and domestic consumers. It serves major fuel depots around Moscow and supplies airports including Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo.
The drone strike resulted in a significant fire, covering an area of approximately 800 square meters.
SBU head Yevgeny Khmara stated that preparations for new special operations are underway, emphasizing that the intensity of Ukrainian strikes within Russian territory will continue to increase. He affirmed, ‘Our long-range sanctions will remain effective.’
The SBU has targeted a key oil facility in Russia, disrupting fuel supplies to Moscow and causing a significant fire. This operation reflects Ukraine's ongoing military strategy to intensify strikes on Russian territory.
