Ukrainian Forces Target Major Russian Oil Facilities

Ukrainian military units have launched attacks on significant oil processing facilities in Russia, resulting in fires at both sites. These operations are part of a broader strategy aimed at disrupting Russia’s military supply chains.

On May 18, Ukrainian defense forces struck the “Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez” oil refinery located in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region. The attack led to a fire at the facility, which is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, processing approximately 17 million tons of crude oil annually.

The refinery produces gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, which are essential for supporting Russian military operations. The extent of the damage caused by the attack is still being assessed.

Following this, on May 19, Ukrainian forces targeted the “Yaroslavl-3” oil pumping station near the village of Semibratovo in the Yaroslavl region. Similar to the refinery attack, the level of damage at this site is also under evaluation.

The General Staff of Ukraine has emphasized that these strikes are part of a systematic campaign to undermine Russia’s military-economic capabilities, with the goal of halting the ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine.

Ukrainian military operations have recently targeted key oil facilities in Russia, including a major refinery and an oil pumping station. These actions aim to disrupt Russia's military supply lines and are part of a larger strategy to counter ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
