Russian Air Defense Vulnerabilities Exposed Following Drone Attack on Moscow

In the aftermath of a significant drone assault on Moscow, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Special Operations Forces (SBS), has revealed critical insights into the vulnerabilities of Russia’s air defense system.

Brovdi indicated that Russian authorities are attempting to maintain an “information blackout” in response to the attack, employing a combination of censorship and efforts to project a sense of normalcy. He remarked on the Kremlin’s reaction to the strikes on the capital with a sardonic comment.

“Pelmen, having received a direct hit, turned on the perch,” he stated.

According to Brovdi, Moscow’s air defense is supported by over 100 launchers from the S-300, S-400, and S-500 systems, along with more than 50 Pantsir-S1/S2 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems. He noted that the total simultaneous volley from this defense network could exceed 700 guided anti-air missiles.

Brovdi further emphasized that the grandeur of an empire diminishes where basic mathematics of systemic deep strikes begin to apply. He reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to enhancing its long-range strike capabilities and expressed gratitude to the SBS, Special Operations Forces, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and Military Intelligence (HUR) units involved in deep strike operations.

Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Special Operations Forces, has highlighted the weaknesses in Russia's air defense system following a drone attack on Moscow. He emphasized the ongoing efforts by Russian authorities to control information and maintain a facade of normalcy while acknowledging the capabilities of Ukraine's military forces.
