Massive Russian Attack in Kyiv Claims 16 Lives, Rescue Efforts Ongoing

In a devastating assault on Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, 16 individuals have lost their lives, including two children, following a significant Russian missile and drone strike. Rescue operations are still underway as authorities search for survivors among the rubble.

The attack, which occurred overnight on May 14, resulted in injuries to 47 people, with two of them being minors. Emergency services are actively engaged in debris removal and victim recovery efforts.

During the assault spanning May 13 and 14, Russian forces launched a coordinated strike using a combination of drones and various types of missiles. Reports indicate that a total of 1,567 drones and 56 missiles were deployed, with interception rates of 94% for drones and 73% for missiles.

On the night of the attack, 56 missiles and 675 drones were fired at Ukraine, causing destruction not only in Kyiv but also in several other regions. At least 20 individuals in the capital remain unaccounted for.

The Ukrainian Air Force described this strike as one of the most extensive since the onset of the full-scale war, highlighting that all available aerial attack capabilities were utilized by Russian forces.
