A 14-year-old boy from the Netherlands, who had been missing for three weeks, was located at a bus stop approximately 30 kilometers from the Belarus border. The discovery was confirmed by Polish authorities and reported by NOS.
The teenager, identified as Maxim, disappeared after leaving his hometown of Apeldoorn on a bicycle. Following his disappearance, law enforcement agencies in the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland initiated a search and disseminated information regarding his case.
He was found late in the evening near the Polish city of Białystok, where police received reports of an individual lying at a bus stop. Upon arrival, officers discovered the boy sleeping under a blanket.
Authorities later confirmed his identity as the missing teenager sought by Dutch police. He was subsequently taken to a care facility in Białystok, and the information regarding his recovery was communicated to the Dutch authorities.
The boy’s parents expressed significant relief upon learning of his safe return. A family spokesperson indicated that they had already spoken with their son by phone and were making arrangements to bring him home as soon as possible.
