On May 7, Ukrainian military forces reported a significant increase in combat engagements, with 156 clashes occurring since the start of the day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detailed that the Russian military executed a missile strike, conducted 65 aerial attacks, and dropped 178 guided bombs.

Additionally, the report indicated the deployment of 4,869 kamikaze drones and 2,175 artillery strikes targeting both populated areas and Ukrainian military positions. The most intense fighting has been recorded in the Pokrovsk direction in Donetsk, a trend that has persisted for several months.

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, one of ten confrontations reported today took place. Russian forces carried out 85 strikes on settlements and military positions, including 23 using multiple rocket launch systems. Four aerial assaults were also reported, involving ten guided bombs.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 21 attacks, attempting to advance in areas surrounding the settlements of Bilytske, Nykyforivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, Hryshyne, Kotelne, as well as towards Hanniivka, Novopavlivka, and Shevchenko. Two confrontations are ongoing.

In the Hulyaipil direction, 17 enemy attacks were recorded in the vicinity of Rybne, Dobropillia, Sviatopetrivka, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Verkhnya Tersa, and Charivne, with five clashes still in progress. Aerial strikes targeted the settlements of Liubytske, Vozdvizhivska, and Dolynka.

Fighting also continued in the South-Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dniprovsk directions.

On April 26, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that the Russian army had intensified its offensive across nearly the entire front line. He emphasized that Ukrainian defense forces are focusing on strategic planning, innovative solutions, and effective use of available resources, resulting in enemy losses that exceed their capacity for reinforcements.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on April 23, described the frontline situation as particularly critical, asserting that the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are more stable than in previous months and years. However, he also pointed out that Russia continues to prepare for aerial assaults on Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military reported a marked increase in combat activity on May 7, with 156 clashes and significant Russian aerial assaults. The ongoing confrontations highlight the escalating tensions along the front lines, particularly in the Donetsk region.
