Consensus Miami Concludes with Key Discussions on Digital Assets and Regulation

The final day of Consensus Miami focuses on critical topics in the digital assets sector, including regulatory advancements and market predictions. Yesterday, Patrick Witt, Executive Director of the President’s Council on Digital Assets, addressed the audience, emphasizing the urgency of legislative action within the Senate.

Witt noted that if the Senate Banking Committee proceeds with a markup this month, it would allow for a four-week window to reconcile the bill with the Senate Agriculture Committee’s version. He described this timeline as aggressive yet achievable, indicating a proactive approach to digital asset regulation.

Michael Saylor, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency space, also spoke, advocating for the concept of yieldcoins and outlining a vision for the future of digital assets. His remarks highlighted the potential innovations that could reshape the sector.

In addition, Alex Pruden, CEO of Project Eleven, underscored the importance of initiating efforts towards post-quantum security, a critical area as technological advancements continue to evolve.

Today’s agenda includes panels that will explore a range of topics such as prediction markets, sports betting, stablecoins, and banking. Privacy and agentic payments will also be significant themes throughout the discussions.

Notable speakers include Tom Lee, who will deliver a keynote address, and executives from the stablecoin sector who will discuss recent regulatory developments. Following lunch, Donald Trump, Jr. and Zach Witkoff from World Liberty Financial will take the main stage, while payments executives will elaborate on the functionality of crypto cards and related tools.

CoinDesk is set to host its Policy & Regulation Summit, which will delve into pressing regulatory issues, including DeFi regulation and implications for the upcoming 2026 election. The event will conclude with a debate on the nature of prediction markets, questioning whether they are merely sophisticated gambling products or represent a new class of financial instruments.

The final day of Consensus Miami brings together key discussions on digital asset regulation and innovation. With a focus on legislative timelines and emerging technologies, industry leaders address the future of cryptocurrencies and their regulatory landscape.
