On May 4, Russian military forces conducted over 70 strikes across Ukraine, affecting seven regions and resulting in 14 fatalities and approximately 60 injuries, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
The city of Merefa in the Kharkiv region suffered the most significant losses, with seven individuals reported dead. In Vilnyansk, Zaporizhia, a strike targeted a church, leading to the deaths of two parishioners.
In response to the ongoing violence, Ukraine has announced a ceasefire that will take effect at midnight on May 5 and will mirror the conditions set by Russia. Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense declared a temporary truce from May 8 to May 9, warning that any violations by Ukraine would prompt a severe retaliatory missile strike on the capital.
The recent escalation in military strikes by Russia has resulted in significant casualties in Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv region. In light of this violence, both nations are announcing ceasefires, though tensions remain high.
