On Saturday, May 2, Russian forces launched new strikes against facilities belonging to Naftogaz, affecting operations across three regions in Ukraine within a span of just 48 hours.
One of the recent attacks hit a gas extraction site in the Kharkiv region, resulting in damage to equipment. Specialists from Naftogaz are currently on-site assessing the impact of the strike.
Today, a gas pipeline in the Zaporizhzhia region was also targeted. Reports indicate that an aerial bomb was dropped on the pipeline, leaving some consumers temporarily without gas. Repair teams are prepared to begin restoration efforts as soon as the security situation allows, coordinating their actions with military personnel.
Additionally, a Naftogaz employee sustained injuries from shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region and is receiving medical care.
Naftogaz officials noted that since the beginning of 2026, their facilities have endured a total of 99 attacks.
Recent Russian strikes on Naftogaz facilities have caused significant disruptions in gas supply across Ukraine. With ongoing attacks, the company faces increasing challenges in maintaining its operations and ensuring employee safety.
