The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has ordered a comprehensive review of logistics for front-line troops by May 20. This directive aims to ensure that soldiers are adequately supplied with essential resources, including transportation, evacuation support, and ground robotics.
On April 24, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported a change in command within the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The previous leadership allegedly concealed the true state of affairs, leading to the loss of certain positions and logistical failures, including issues with food supply at one of the brigade’s locations.
In response to these shortcomings, significant personnel changes were made: the commander of the 14th Brigade was removed from his position, and the commander of the 10th Army Corps was dismissed and reassigned at a lower rank. Colonel Taras Maksymov has been appointed as the new commander of the 14th Brigade, while Brigadier General Artem Bohomolov will lead the 10th Army Corps.
The reshuffling in command stems from failures in supporting troops and the loss of ground in the Kupiansk area, as reported by the General Staff. The previous brigade leadership reportedly hid critical issues, including food supply problems, exacerbated by Russian strikes on supply routes.
A commission from the Ground Forces is currently conducting an internal investigation into the brigade’s leadership, with findings expected to be forwarded to law enforcement for further legal assessment. The situation gained attention after images circulated on social media showing exhausted soldiers from one battalion who had been stationed without sufficient food and water for an extended period.
The Ukrainian military has enacted leadership changes in response to logistical failures within the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The new commanders aim to address supply issues and improve conditions for frontline troops.
